Hidden Insights: Astrology for the week of 13 August 2017

As we wind down from the electrifying, energizing Full Moon Eclipse in Aquarius, we’re setting the stage towards the increasingly infamous New Moon Eclipse in Leo occurring on Monday, 21 August 2017. Hidden Insights has advice for a week that has plenty to keep us on our toes in the meantime.

Mercury imperceptibly begins moving in retrograde motion in the early hours of the morning of Sunday, 13 August 2017. Over the next few weeks. Mercury will appear to travel back into the sign of Leo. It’s been a highly inspirational few weeks, and this will be an opportunity to refine our creative self-expression in order to be more consciously in service to our boldest creative goals.

Until the middle of this week, Venus and Neptune are in a separating trine aspect in Water signs Cancer and Pisces. Venus reflects what’s important to us. In Cancer she’s already reflecting the subtle value and beauty of having an emotional support network. With the aspect to Neptune, a cosmic tone gently emanates and our spiritual vision is illuminated. This need for connection and emotional validation is so important that it’s actually connected to our spiritual purpose. It’s what potentially turns life into one endless, gorgeous, soulfully nourishing poetic moment.

On Tuesday, 15 August 2017, we have the catalyzing Last Quarter Moon in Taurus. Venus in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn, and we’ll be extra sensitive to power games that play on our sentimentality.  With Mercury retrograde in Virgo, we’ll also be yearning for innovative ways to create our way out of any boxes we find ourselves in.

If an emotional support network is limited and we don’t know how to communicate our needs — or we lack the fluency to be able to support our nearest, dearest allies (Basically, if our experiences appear to be a mis-match to our ideal) — then this will of course be a challenging week. But the challenge points to exactly where the work needs to be done in order to gain fulfillment.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up for your sign this week:

Aries (21 March — 19 April)

Yours is the truly independent spirit, Aries. But an impulsive desire to go it alone can lead you away from the experience of camaraderie that partnerships and collaborations offer up. You’re well within your rights to be discerning about who you choose to support and be supported by, so give yourself some time to think about it. You can get in touch with your sense of purpose this week by assessing who and what you genuinely care about.

Your secret weapon is: Discernment.

Taurus (20 April — 20 May)

The more you say yes to life, the more likely you’re going to experience this week positively, Taurus. This is about embracing novel experiences, but also about opening up to receive where you find yourself right now. Resistance is futile, as the saying goes. It’s time to acknowledge this for the profound truth that it is, and to transcend outmoded boundaries that no longer serve any constructive purpose — especially any designed to keep you “safe.”

Your holy mantra is: Yes, please.

Gemini (21 May — 20 June)

It’s the right time to summon your great talent for keeping it light, Gemini. Your natural curiosity is an asset and can be extremely useful. But its application requires some finesse, lest you accidentally poke through someone’s cherished defenses in your quest for truth. It might help to remember that emotional truths are always subject to flux, and that keeping harmony is sometimes more important than your need to know it all.

Your patronus keeps their wits about them.

Cancer (21 June — 22 July)

Some things just can’t be analyzed to a point of satisfaction, Cancer. This week, you’re encouraged to be swept away by the moment rather than to immediately seek to understand it. This will be the key to whether or not you experience resistance to chaos or the contractions of catharsis. Since your capacity for sentimentality is high, your only real-world responsibility is to ensure you keep a record for future reflection.

Your sacred ritual creates an openness to experience.

Leo (23 July — 22 August)

There’s no escaping the tidal wave this week, Leo. Leonine types are especially sensitive during this lunation cycle anyway, but eclipses have a way of dialing up raw emotional intensity. And in many ways, it is about the not-so-gentle art of falling apart in preparation for the New Moon Eclipse. Change is upon you, dear Leo, and this week your challenge is to keep your eyes and heart open as wide as possible, no matter how much fear arises in response to it.

Your holy mantra is: Bring it on.

Virgo (23 August — 22 September)

Keep your eyes on the prize, Virgo. With Mercury in retrograde motion in your sign, it will likely take you longer to accomplish some particular task on your agenda. This can be a wonderful time to stop and take stock of where you’ve got so far and to take the time to be grateful for where you are. Cultivate patience. A change of pace doesn’t mean your goal is any further away. And dignity looks so good on you.

Your patronus is the epitome of productivity and grace.

Libra (23 September — 22  October)

Words like “work” or “career” are a bit dry aren’t they, Libra? They are labels that seem stripped of any kind of emotional value. And yet, in order to achieve real fulfillment in these areas of life, you absolutely need to be satisfied at an emotional level. It’s perfectly acceptable to provide and receive nourishment through whatever mundane activities you participate in, as well as the work that you do in the world. You’re even allowed to revel in it.

Your holy mantra makes your world a kingdom.

Scorpio (23 October — 21 November)

As we wind our way towards the New Moon Eclipse in Leo, it’s worth starting to deeply consider your sentiments around the area of “success”, Scorpio. The values you hold deepest ripple out throughout your life, and do much to create certain circumstances and experiences. What’s got you this far? How can you align with this? Has anything been getting in the way? The Last Quarter Moon integrity tests all of this, and more.

Your secret weapon is: Intention

Sagittarius (22 November — 22 December)

It’s a good week to keep a low profile if you can, Sagittarius. With Mercury retrograde, it’s better to pro-actively slow down the pace anyway. To make time and space for reflection and self-examination, especially in regards to any decisions that are likely to have significant future implications. You may not be able to stop yourself from being out in the world entirely, but at least try and hold a little something back for yourself.

Your sacred ritual carves out space to think.

Capricorn (22 December — 19 January)

There’s a lot of unconscious consolidating to be done, Capricorn. What this means is that rather than trying to tackle life head on, you’re much better off trusting the process. This involves circumstances that are already unfolding, as well as your own drives and impulses. So really, as much as this is about relinquishing control to others, it’s also about trusting your own deepest wisdom.

Your patronus takes a break before they really need it.

Aquarius (20 January — 18 February)

Restraint is the aim of the game this week, Aquarius. Now, this isn’t about restricting your own emotions, or those of others, because we know that’s not usually constructive. It’s about showing leadership, consideration, and maturity in your dealings. This is your week to shine in your capacity as a future-oriented dispenser of spiritual wisdom. And through your willingness to help others, who knows what you might gain.

Your sacred objects are a cup of tea and a listening ear.

Pisces (19 February — 20 March)

These are days where patience and vigilance are critical, Pisces. Mercury retrograde in Virgo indicates that there’s a sense of meeting obstacles and resistance when it comes to imposing your will on the world around you. This can certainly be exhausting, but the key here is not to take this as a sign to give up or surrender. When it gets tough, take a big breath and remember that you’re playing the long game.

Your super power is resilience.
