Review:

When I started reading this novel, I thought to myself, "X-Men or Mutant X material." This book is intended to be the introduction to a series of books for teens put out by a subsidiary of Disney Enterprises.

It is a fast-paced novel with an occasional twist which an adult might anticipate, but which will undoubtedly surprise the teen reader.

There is lots of room for the series to develop. There are four young people who are the prime protagonists (with an older woman serving as advisor). It has nothing to do with Wicca, or magick for that matter, but it an entertaining read for younger folks. It is also possible, based on this first book, that there may be a little bit of mythology picked up by the readers.

If you know a teen who enjoys reading, likes stories with an "occult" theme, and is going bonkers waiting for the next installment of "Harry Potter," they would probably enjoy this series.
