Yes, you're affecting your perception of time, you weren't trying to do the same to your watch, or your wife at home. If you gave it a go to set it so you would percieve time 'normally' and your watch to speed up or slow down, how would you measure the results? Would you say you made an effect on time, on yourself, on the watch, etc?
Time is an illusion.
