Hidden Insights: Astrology for the week of 6 August 2017

Monday, 7 August 2017 sees the Full Moon in Aquarius and a partial lunar eclipse. We enter a portal between this and the significant total eclipse that occurs later this month: a portal that contains vital visions of personal and collective contributions to the future of each of us. Hidden Insights has advice for a week where we’re encouraged to put our trust in our most radical visions without any guarantee of success.

Mercury in analytical Virgo also begins a push towards an opposition to Neptune in dreamy Pisces, but doesn’t quite reach exactitude. There can be irreconcilable tension between intuitions and the facts of any given situation.

Mercury is happiest when moving fast, and as it’s in its home sign, Virgo, we should be finding it easy to embrace meticulous thinking and the kind of comprehension achieved through an accumulation of evidence… but there’s a slow-down in preparation for next week’s Mercury retrograde. And that tricky Neptune opposition.

Evidence that actually amounts to crystalline meaning is ultimately elusive, and demands for clear-cut answers will likely only lead to frustration. At a certain point we must learn to trust intuition as a form of evidence, to use the intellect as a vehicle for the transcendent.

This is not the time for figuring out the details. The Full Moon in Aquarius is a time to summon and consolidate your inner fire in service to the world around you. To allow your vision and your heart-fire to oscillate together to create a dynamic that lifts our spirits and inspires greater courage than ever.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up for your sign this week:

Aries (21 March — 19 April)

Deceptions are uncovered this week, Aries. It may not be some public revelation that puts you on the spot. It may very well be a private realization of some way that you’ve been kidding yourself in regards to how you operate creatively. Whether or not you choose to continue indulging delusions is up to you. If I were you, I’d take advantage of the opportunity to break away from your own status quo and try a new way of being — even if it goes unnoticed for now.

Your Full Moon Eclipse ritual encourages you to get as real with yourself as possible.

Taurus (20 April — 20 May)

Issues of status are highlighted for you this week, Taurus. It’s important for you to find a way to operate in the world that lets you remain true to your creative, sentimental self; a platform that you can be proud of and that also makes a difference to your community. My sense is that this has a lot to do explicitly with art, or whatever creative outlet you have that keeps you close to your heart.

Your Full Moon Eclipse ritual encourages you to stand tall and share your gifts.

Gemini (21 May — 20 June)

You can make a lot of progress this week, Gemini. It’s likely this could be a “ten-steps-forward, six-steps-back” situation in the long run, but obviously that’s no reason not to take advantage of this chance to pick up so much traction. In order to catch this opportunity, you’ll need to be willing to open your mind. The Full Moon eclipse comes along with a philosophical perspective shift that puts you more in touch with your sense of purpose.

Your Full Moon Eclipse ritual helps you find a reason.

Cancer (21 June — 22 July)

The only way you’ll know for sure if your current troubles are worth it is the passing of time, Cancer. In the meantime, you’re encouraged not to shy away from experience. At a subtle level, it may feel like you have something important to lose — but actually you have far, far more to gain. If you are able to settle in and accept that it’s going to take some time for you to be able to figure everything out, then you’ll likely be able to enjoy the present moment that much more.

Your Full Moon Eclipse ritual helps you find value in something you’d much rather avoid

Leo (23 July — 22 August)

Being self-obsessed is easy for you, Leo. But with the Full Moon in your opposite sign, it’s time to jump out of that box you’ve been getting comfortable in and start cultivating some genuine concern for people around you. The sooner you start showing some interest, the less people around you will resent you for your own currently powerful position. Let your warm light bathe others and revel in the camaraderie it helps to develop.

Your Full Moon Eclipse encourages teamwork.

Virgo (23 August — 22 September)

Your biggest challenge at the moment is finding your own definition of peace, Virgo. Just when it seems like you’ve got it all figured out, you’ll find something arising either externally or internally to confront it. It is possible to eventually reconcile your experience, but a big part of achieving this depends on your ability to expand your capacity for weirdness. You’ll have to go back your everyday processes soon anyway, so you might as well be open to possibilities now.

Your Full Moon Eclipse ritual brings your selves together.

Libra (23 September — 22  October)

This Full Moon Eclipse encourages you to flex your creative muscles, Libra. This lunar cycle is all about how you engage with your community, which in a way suits you well, as it fulfills the Libran need to serve someone other than themselves. The danger for Libra is that this need can morph into something a lot like self-sacrificing. Fortunately, the current dynamics reflect a chance for you to gain a measure of authority rather than lose it.

Your Full Moon Eclipse puts you securely in charge of a shared goal.

Scorpio (23 October — 21 November)

Being comfortable with yourself generates its own special kind of power, Scorpio. It’s a kind of magnetic quality that draws people, experiences, and status toward you. The Full Moon Eclipse in Aquarius represents the culmination of a process you began in February that is all about radical self-acceptance. If you’ve done the work, you’ll be noticing the pay-off. Either way, let this serve as a reminder of just how important, and consequential, this is for you.

Your Full Moon Eclipse ritual object is a radical self-love letter.

Sagittarius (22 November — 22 December)

This might not feel like the right time to slow down, but you might not have any option, Sagittarius. There are lot of innovative ideas that you want to explore and develop, which is wonderful. Just be mindful not to totally overextend yourself before you’ve really even begun to implement them. Mercury slowing down in Virgo emphasizes a need to be methodical. And in reality, there’s no rush. Take the slow lane and save yourself a whole lot of future stress.

Your Full Moon Eclipse ritual offers a glimpse of your future priorities.

Capricorn (22 December — 19 January)

The Full Moon Eclipse emphasizes your approach to personal and shared resources, Capricorn. If you’re currently attached to anything that looks remotely like a scarcity mentality, then you know where you need to focus. The Aquarian spirit is one of collaboration. Of sharing ideas and resources towards a common purpose. Rather than jumping to protect what you’ve got, jump at the opportunity to share your value.

Your Full Moon Eclipse ritual lets you drop your defenses.

Aquarius (20 January — 18 February)

With the Full Moon Eclipse in your sign, the spotlight is on you, dear Aquarius. It’s also a chance for you to put your problem-solving hat on and brainstorm some novel solutions that benefit everyone in your immediate environment. Aquarius is a visionary and future-oriented sign. With the Full Moon, there’s opportunity to bring this together with the traits of polar sign Leo. It’s a combination that speaks of courage and inspired leadership.

Your Full Moon Eclipse ritual lends courage to your vision of the future.

Pisces (19 February — 20 March)

The two eclipses in August coincide with an opportunity to reflect on material concerns, Pisces. The Full Moon offers a radical vision of possibility regarding how your everyday actions marry to your most expansive soul potential. In order to make the most of this opportunity for learning, commit to being entirely fascinated with mundane reality. Your finances and general health might not seem very spiritual or creative, but your overall fulfillment certainly depends on their condition.

Your Full Moon Eclipse ritual is a reality check.
